National Scooter Day is a nationwide campaign to highlight the benefits of scooter riding and encourage families to get outside and scoot. Celebrated during National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, National Scooter Day promotes scooting as a fuel-free, eco-friendly, healthy and safe way to travel. On May 19th, Micro Kickboard invites families across the country to participate by being active and riding scooters to school, work, the park, a friend’s house, or just around the neighborhood.

Micro Kickboard is inviting scooter-enthusiasts across the country to celebrate the first annual National Scooter Day on May 19th. This day is to educate scooter riders how to ride safely, correctly, and to simply celebrate the fun of being on a scooter! There are endless ways to participate: Hop on your scooter and ride to school, work, or just for fun around the neighborhood! Be sure to check out The Buzz to find out how you can follow the celebration and enter to win Micro Kickboard scooters. You can also register to be an official participant of National Scooter Day to receive updates, specials perks and to be featured on the National Scooter Day website! (Available for 2016).
Throughout the day on May 19th, Micro Kickboard will be celebrating National Scooter Day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. To join in on the conversation, use the hashtag #ScooterDay (share photos!).

Scooting is enjoyable for all ages! We are inviting everyone ages 1-100 to participate in National Scooter Day. Be sure to follow all safety tips to lead good examples for our younger scooter riders. Most importantly, have fun!
For parents: Encourage your child to scoot today! Scooting is a great way to exercise, build your child’s self-confidence, gross motor skills, and sense of balance. Plus, it’s a great way for them to keep up on short commutes. Scooting to school is a great way for your child to celebrate this day! Always scoot with or walk alongside your child.
Safety should always come first when riding a scooter. Check out these tips/tricks to be the best scooter rider you can be!

Wear a safety-approved helmet.
Wear elbow and knee pads
Stay on the sidewalk when riding
Walk the scooter across streets
Check both ways 3 times before crossing the street
Follow all local safety rules
Adult supervision is recommended for children riding scooters
Be respectful of pedestrians with whom you are sharing the sidewalks
Scoot only in daylight when visibility is good
Scoot only when sidewalks are smooth and dry, avoiding wet or broken sidewalks.
