Our top-selling 2-wheel scooter for adults, the Black's oversized 200 mm wheels make it one of the fastest scooters on the street. From the head-turning design to the incredibly smooth, quiet ride, the Micro Black appeals as the ultimate scooter for commuters. The ride is so effortless that you will get asked if it is electric (coming in 2016). The Black also is one of Micro's tallest scooters, ergonomically designed with a lower deck and higher T-bar (41" above the ground) to create a comfortable upright stance for adults. The steering is responsive and precise, exactly what you need for navigating crowded city streets, or for riding confidently with children. Micro considered every detail in the design of the Micro Black, evidenced in the patented two-way kickstand, the simple folding mechanism and the feel of the shock-absorbing hand grips. All components are made from quality materials and all are fully replaceable so your scooter will last, virtually forever. Smooth-gliding, foldable, portable, and about twice as fast as walking, the Micro Black is a great way to roll.

The Black comes completely assembled, with a patented double-button folding system. To unfold the Black, simply loosen the clamp on the folding mechanism, then push in and hold the 2 buttons on either side of the front wheel. Unfold your scooter and ride.

The two-way kickstand can be kicked forward or back when you're ready to ride. We recommend kicking it forward to ride, so that when you're ready to park, you can use your toe to deploy the stand. It's the cool way to park your ride.

SAFETY - We recommend that riders wear a helmet.

This scooter is wonderful. I'm pushing 50 and can keep up with my 12YO on his scooter. It's smooth and very easy to ride. Also very fast. If you're looking for a scooter as an adult; this is the one to buy..

Black Air
Great scooter. Ordered the air tires and up graded bearing to Bones Swiss Ceramic Bearings. With the air tires you can ride over anything and with the ceramic bearing I picked up about 1 mile an hour of speed. Doesn't sound like much but on a push scooter it's a lot. I can ride with bike riders for half a mile or so. I've done 6 miles in an hour on an inclined path without much problem. One thing I would have liked is a half inch wider deck but I can live with it as is. I've just had to get better at switching feet.

Truth About the Micro Black
Purchased the Micro Black for my teen over the winter so we're just testing this out.

The final out come, Love it! I'll be purchasing one for myself immediately...LOL, I've kind of exhausted by holding privilege.

Advise: The streets of NYC can be a bumpy ride, but when you're on good grounds the Micro Black glides on its own. OMG, I love this thing.

If you're into scooters, this is the one!

Love Us, Love Us Not
I purchased the micro for my six year old grandson who is now a ten year old and still rides his scooter. We replaced the wheels and handlebars once. Recently, I purchased the mini micro 3 in 1 for my 18 mos. old granddaughter, after seeing how much my grandson enjoys his. I love the idea that the product is adaptable as she grows in age. Yes, it is pricey BUT the quality, safety and ease of use is well worth the money. I have been extremely happy with my purchases. I LOVE the product and have highly recommended to others looking for a quality scooter.

Feels great to be a kid again
We are a Micro family. Needless to say my son has loved his Micro scooters from the start. He has been riding them since he was 4. I can't get him to ride on anything else. His bike collects dust in the garage and walking is never an option. I finally purchased a Micro ( adult) for myself and can see why he only wants to ride his Micro. Luckily we live in a great neighborhood in San Diego so using the scooter is a great way to get around town and even to the parks and the zoo and boardwalk beaches. The quality of these scooters are top notch. My son loves to teach me new tricks but I'll just stick with the quality ride. Thanks Micro for making our outdoor experiences so much more enjoyable!!!

Smooth Ride
I bought my 3 year old son the micro mini scooter and he LOVES it. I was riding an old razor scooter and I decided to upgrade to the Micro Black. This scooter is AWESOME! I have no problem riding it over uneven surfaces like sidewalks. I would never had done that with the old Razor.
You won't be sorry! It is sleek! Would be perfect for city streets or college to get around campus. Plus it folds!

Robust Kickscooter, well engineered
To begin, I will say that I also own a Razor A5 adult kickscooter which I've had for a little over a year. The Razor is fine for the price but I got frustrated with the fact that the steering mechanism seems to loosen up quite easily and there's slop in the folding junction of scooter. Both of these problems are eliminated with the Micro black. I like the locking down lever used to better secure the steering part to the rear part. It comes with a kickstand which is a nice touch as well. One easy upgrade is to replace the wheel bearing with Red Devil bearings! These are available on Amazon and I'm surprised Micro doesn't do this as this I quite an expensive scooter at more than double the cost of the A5. I'm in NY and when my boy and I rode to the Nat'l History Museum, the coat check wouldn't take the scooters so we had to push walk them. It would be really great is this could be redesigned to have a pull-along type feature like a few of the other high end scooters have such as Oxelo Town has. Overall, a much sturdier scooter when compared to the A5, just change the bearing when get it; you'll be glad.

Is the lack of a hand brake ever a problem?
Jeff R on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jeff, not at all! This scooter features a rear fender brake-- rear fender brakes are easy to use and much safer than a handbrake (which can cause users to topple over head-first)
What is main difference between the micro black and flex series black? Which is better?
Eddie M on Nov 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The scooters are *very* similar and employ most of the same parts. The key difference is the deck. The deck on the Micro Black is a rigid aluminum and is lower to the ground. The deck on the Flex series is a wood (ie "skateboard style") deck and is 3 inches off the ground. Here are the specs:

Micro Black Deck = 13 inches x 5 inches (2 inches off the ground

Flex Black Deck = 14 inches x 5.5 inches (3 inches off the ground)

The kickstand does not reach the ground - is there a trick to using it, or a picture that shows how?
Jeff R on May 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The kickstand is a "2-way" kickstand and can either be kicked forward or backward when not in use. There are otherwise no tricks to lowering the kickstand, simply press it down with the toe of your shoe =)
can you use a carry strap on the micro scooter?
Guest on May 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We currently do not offer a carry strap that works with the Micro Black (as of 5.13.16). There are outside vendors which may offer a compatible strap.

Personally, I like to use my Micro bag-in-bag for carrying the scooter:

can this be brought on a city bus?
David S on Aug 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: While you will want to check with your local city ordinances and laws, we have seen thousands of customers use this product when commuting via bus, train, and plane. The scooter folds-down, this allows you to easily carry the scooter onto public transportation. Cheers!
