Details

The Kickboard Compact is the next step up from the Maxi - perfect for young teens and smaller adults. The 3-wheel Kickboard offers the same style steering as the Mini and Maxi - riders simply lean to steer, similar to riding a skateboard but with more control and maneuverability. The Compact's aluminum deck is designed for easy use by teens and smaller adults. The Compact comes with our patented easy to use folding mechanism, which also locks in the folded position to become a carrying handle. Kickboard Compact is a great mode of transport; when you arrive at your destination, it can be simply folded and carried. A benefit of all of our Kickboards is that they stay upright when you hop off, making it easy to park quickly, or switch from riding to walking, and back again.

The Compact's tested weight capacity is 220 lbs but we would recommend it for use up to about 170 lbs. Above that weight we would suggest looking at the Kickboard Original or Kickboard Monster.

Now with interchangeable T-bar/Joystick!  Quickly and conveniently convert your kickboard from the more "traditional" T-bar steering over to the Joystick steering, which provides more of a skateboarding or longboarding feel.

The Kickboard Compact comes completely assembled, with the patented folding mechanism. To unfold your Compact, simply pull to release the locking mechanism at the base of the Joystick then raise. Make sure the Joystick is locked in the upright position before riding.

SAFETY - We recommend that riders wear a helmet. This scooter is not designed for jumps or stunts, but our Freestyle scooters are.

Please note, when you take this product out of its display box, it will arrive in "Joystick mode."  The components needed to convert your handlebar over to a T-bar are included right inside the box with your scooter and instruction manual.  Switching from one handlebar style over to the other is quite easy!

Amazing
The Kickboard Compact is absolutely amazing. After trying a friend's Maxi, I knew I need one for myself. I looked at the Maxi, but knew I would outgrow it too soon, being thirteen. I like how the Kickboard Compact was bigger than the Maxi. I also love how it folds. I ordered the Kickboard Compact and I love it. I often ride it to the store, fold it take it in, and scoot it home with my purchases in a bag on the t-bar. When I bring it to the park I often get requests to ride it, a lot from the younger kids. Even the toddlers who try it can ride it.

EXACTLY what my daughter wanted
One step onto this kick board and my 10yr old was in love. She zipped around exclaiming that she could tell it was Swiss made! It is a solid, smooth ride. The steering is responsive. The 3 wheels provide absolute stability in motion. The foot board has plenty of room for two small feet, and when I tried it, my back foot slipped nicely behind my front foot in a comfortable stance. The wheels are solid and provide an extremely smooth ride, even on rough blacktop. This is exactly as pictured, with a metal foot board and all metal parts. It's extremely easy to fold and carry. This kickboard will not disappoint.

Fantastic scooter!
This is my 3rd purchase from microkickboard, all scooters for my kids. We love them! They are such high quality, last forever, and totally worth the money. These are by far the best scooters I have ever purchased! My son loves this scooter. It rides so smooth, is so easy to set up, and looks great. Once you ride one of these you will never be able to ride another scooter!

FuN for eVeRyOnE!
Love the scooters! The whole family happily rides these exclusively (nieces and nephew too!). Super smooth ride, incredibly easy to maneuver for littles (baby began riding his 3in1 at 11 mos like a pro) and parents alike. Great color selection, lightweight but sturdy. I tell every parent and active person I know that these scooters are the only way to go. One minor issue I've had is the plug on our kickboard compact however, it arrived bent and can't seem to keep in place atop the handlebar... unfortunately it is currently missing but I imagine it will turn up eventually.

I have a 10 year old (one of five kiddos😂) and he has outgrown his Maxi. He saw this scooter and liked the color and the fact that it can fold down and he no longer has to "dismantle" his scooter to store it because of the foldability aspect. Plus...I'm planning on sneaking in a ride or two. The color is cool and Kickboard is known for quality. This is my 5th scooter purchase...

My children loved their Maxi scooters, but now they have grown and are ready to move on to the next size. The Maxi scooters held up so well and they loved riding them, so we knew the next scooter needed to be another MK scooter as well.

We have the kids sized kickboard that my son outgrew. I have an adult version I bought a few years ago and we love them.

Our 11 year old son has enjoyed his Maxi scooter for the last three years, and it's time to graduate to the next size.

I purchased this scooter to keep up with my three year old twins on their mini deluxe scooters. Thought the three wheel design was a good idea so the scooter will remain standing when a quick dismount is needed.

Looks like a high quality scooter, 3 wheels will let me ride around the neighborhood with my daughter easily. So excited.

Our son has grown through the mini, to the maxi and now this "adult" scooter and I do believe it will be his last. We really liked the stronger platform that will take him through his teen years and the fact that it folds, making it easy to pop in the back of the trunk for trips. Really cool.

BEST ANSWER: The KB Compact features a shorter deck (shorter by about 4 inches) that is also comprised of aluminum instead of wood. This scooter is better for shorter and/or lighter individuals. Cheers!
Is it suitable for an adult that is 5 foot 4 inches tall?
Cynthia B on Aug 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Cynthia, it definitely is! It is great for riders standing between 5' and 6'4'' or so.
How many pounds does the kickboard compact weigh?
A shopper on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This scooter weighs 10 pounds and can hold a rider weighing up to 220 pounds. Cheers!
Are the handlebar handles foldable like the kick scooters?
SeniorScootr on Aug 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi there, this scooter indeed folds-down. If you look at the scooter's handlebar, you can see a black "grip" of sorts near the bottom. This is the grip that allows you to fold and unfold the scooter
What is the minimum height recommended to ride the kickboard compact?
TTBanker on Feb 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 5 feet tall =)
I'm considering this compact kick board for my 11 yo daughter with motor planning difficulty (balance etc). Is the compact as stable as the classic?
Sara H on Mar 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Sara, we would normally recommend the Micro Maxi for your kiddo. The KB Compact scooter is very much an "adult" scooter that is designed for riders ages 13-and-up. An adult kickboard will take more "rider input" to steer when compared to the Micro Maxi. If weight is a concern, I would suggest looking at the Micro Maxi Deluxe (which can hold 40 more pounds than a standard Maxi): http://www.microkickboard.com/micro-maxi-deluxe-deluxe-maxi
Am fairly fit, but find walking is boring. Would this be acceptable for exercise? Am not interested in doing tricks or extreme speed at my age. Thank you!
SeniorScootr on Aug 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi there! We describe scooting as great "low impact" exercise. Switching your kicking/standing leg and commuting on non-flat surfaces can also increase the amount of exercise involved when scooting. Scooting is safe, fun, and can actually get you "from A to B" if desired :)
Does joystick has to be adjusted to make turns?
A shopper on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To steer this scooter, you simply lean your body weight left or right. No adjustments are necessary!
how far up does the bar extend? I don't want to be stooping over to grab bars
Kim R on Nov 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 37 inches from the deck
Is the t bar supposed to be angled forward or straight?
Sabine on Apr 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The scooter's handlebar is angled forward when there is no rider aboard. Once a rider hops aboard, the handlebar should "even out." Cheers!

BEST ANSWER: The bag cannot fit the Kickboard Compact or any of our other adult 3-wheelers (they are too wide when used in T-bar mode)
