**Comes with both T-bar AND Joystick!**
(both handlebar styles included)
The Kickboard Original is the ultimate three-wheel ride. It features axle steering so riders can simply lean to steer like on a skateboard but with greater control and maneuverability. Its simple-to-use, sophisticated folding mechanism allows you to fold and carry, as the handlebar locks in position to create a carrying handle. The fiberglass and marin plywood sandwich deck flexes to absorb bumps providing a very smooth ride, even at high speeds. Like a skateboard, your Kickboard Original stays upright when you hop off, making it easy to park, switch from riding to walking, and back again.
A durable classic for teens and adults, the Kickboard Original is great for urban commutes, college campuses or for just plain having fun on. It comes with interchangeable T-bar and Joystick, allowing you to convert your kickboard from the more "traditional" T-bar steering to Joystick steering, which provides more of a skateboard or longboard feel to your ride.
The Kickboard Original comes completely assembled, with the patented folding mechanism. To unfold your Original, simply pull to release the locking mechanism at the base of the Joystick then raise. Make sure the Joystick is locked in the upright position before riding.
SAFETY - We recommend that riders wear a helmet. This scooter is not designed for jumps or stunts, but our Freestyle scooters are.
Please note, when you take this product out of its display box, it will arrive in "Joystick mode." The components needed to convert your handlebar over to a T-bar are included right inside the box with your scooter and instruction manual. Switching from one handlebar style over to the other is quite easy!

The 3-wheeled "kickboard" ride:
Going with a 3-wheeler, known as a "kickboard", will offer you the greatest stability along with the “axle steering”; this means you actually lean your body to steer the kickboard. A 3-wheeled kickboard can stand on its own without the aid of a kickstand; conversely, a 2-wheeled scooter cannot, thus exemplifying the added stability of a kickboard. Due to a kickboard's 3-wheel design, riders cannot make as sharp of turns on a kickboard as they can on a scooter; turns must be planned a bit “in advance” on a 3-wheeler so that the rider can lean to steer.
Overall, the main "tradeoff" here is stability and ease of ride vs. the inability to make sharp, "athletic" turns
The 2-wheeled "scooter" ride:
Going with a 2-wheeler, known as a "scooter", will offer portability and convenience. Our 2-wheelers definitely require more "rider balance" than their 3-wheeled counterparts; this comes with the benefit of being able to make sharper, more "athletic" turns and an increase in overall maneuverability.
Overall, the main "tradeoff" is portability and convenience vs. added attention to balance and (added) physical requirements.
